When  G-STAR RAW was founded in 1989, its first goal was to position denim and denim-related products at a luxury level. As the founders of ‘luxury’ denim, G-Star launched its first mono brand store in Paris in 1996. There, unwashed raw denim was offered as a retail product for the first time – a revolution in the denim market back then. This store was called ‘RAW Essentials’. Today, G-Star reclaims its territory of high end denim specialist with RAW Essentials.
